2 Sparrows continues its monthly beverage dinner series by welcoming Girasole Vineyards on Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m. This family-owned winery located in Mendocino County California has been farming more than 200 acres of organic varietal wine grapes for over 70 years.Executive Chef Gregory Ellis has created a five-course menu featuring local and seasonal ingredients designed to complement Girasole Vineyard’s organic wines.The evening’s menu will feature:
1st Course, leek, shallot, frisee, hazelnut, 2010 Pinot Blanc
2nd Course, halibut, blue crab, sunchoke, sea bean 2009 Chardonnay
3rd Course, squab, cippolini onion, beet, white bean 2009 Pinot Noir ,
4th Course, bison, red wine risotto, swiss chard, parmesan 2008 Zinfandel
5th Course, tangerine, ginger, honey, almond, 2010 Muscat Canelli
The beverage series continues on Friday, March 23rd. The dinner will feature asmall plates menu by Chef Ellis, with cocktails by North Shore Distillery.
2 Sparrows is a seasonally-driven breakfast, lunch and brunch outpost located in the heart of Chicago’s charming Lincoln Park neighborhood at 553. W. Diversey Pkwy.
The restaurant is open seven days a week, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
