It is unclear whether the last remaining Naperville Blockbuster location is closing, moving or offering something in between, such as online rentals.

Signs outside the building suggest a closing sale, while others suggest a moving sale, while local store representatives remained unclear as to the future of the Naperville Blockbuster store.

“They are still looking for a location,” said a representative who asked to remain anonymous. “For now, we are told to direct customers to sign up for Blockbuster Total Access to get movies by mail.”

During the store liquidation sale, fliers are being distributed directing customers to sign-up for a limited time offer for unlimited movie and game rentals, delivered to their home, for two months free. An additional free month is offered to Combo Pass members along with a one-month free promotion when customers continue using their Combo Pass at seven area Blockbuster locations.

Naperville store representatives thought the store at 3204 S. Route 59 would officially close in a couple of weeks or before the end of February. Calls and emails to the corporate office remained unanswered.

Hours: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Sunday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
