Memorable Meal Includes Sweet Treats for Mom
Sunday, May 13
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Dinner: 3:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.
La Madia will welcome families and friends meeting for a Mother’s Day meal on Sunday, May 13. The River North restaurant will be open from 12 p.m. until 1 a.m., serving seasonally-influenced food and distinctive, hand-selected wines. As a special treat from Chef/Proprietor Jonathan Fox, all moms dining at La Madia on Mother’s Day will receive complimentary, housemade chocolate Italian truffles and a $10 gift certificate for a future visit.
The made-from-scratch menu at La Madia offers unique bruschette (Mozzarella di bufala campana; Creamed ceci bean); seasonal salads (Chopped Italian lettuces; Nichols farm heirloom beets); Neopolitan-inspired pizza (Housemade fennel sausage & sweet onions; Shaved artichoke with reggiano Parmesan and garlic; Cracked organic egg with prosciutto and black pepper); specialty entrees (Rock shrimp and kabocha squash risotto carnaroli; Pan-roasted steak Florentine); savory housemade pasta dishes (Tagliatelle all’Amatriciana with Slagel Farm guanciale); and Sardinian sandwiches (Herbed chicken salad with whole grain mustard; Smoked pork belly). Desserts (pastries, gelato) are also made in house and derived from what’s available at the market. With the rise of gluten intolerance, Fox has also crafted a gluten-free menu with a wide range of offerings.
The restaurant is a perfect place for dining as a duo or in a group, with several prix fixe options: the “La Madia Pizza Party” includes two salads, two pizzas, and one dessert ($13 per guest, parties of six or more); the “La Madia Luncheon” for two includes one salad, one pizza and Wisconsin electric cookies ($19); and the “Lazy Luncheon,” which is the aforementioned lunch for two paired with the wines of the week ($31).
