MERCADITO HOSPITALITY ANNOUNCES NEW RESTAURANT PROJECT IN CHICAGO’S TALBOTT HOTEL

MERCADITO HOSPITALITY

The team at Chicago-based Mercadito Hospitality, recognized nationwide for its creative Mexican cuisine presented at Mercadito Restaurants in New York, Chicago and Miami – as well as the modern Spanish flavors served at the newly opened Tavernita – is pleased to announce a new restaurant development. Located in the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast, the Talbott Hotel has selected Mercadito Hospitality and the esteemed Tippling Bros. to develop and execute a new restaurant concept in the premier boutique property at 10 E. Delaware. The new restaurant will debut Fall 2012 in the luxury hotel’s impressive restaurant space.

“Mercadito Hospitality is thrilled to be working with the Talbott Hotel,” said Partner Natalie Kalb. “It is a prestigious property whose prime location and expansive dining space lend perfectly to the concept we’re planning.”

PT: A Pop-Up Restaurant in the Talbott Hotel – Launching May 2012. While Mercadito Hospitality completes remodeling and designing the new restaurant – as well as formalizes plans for the restaurant’s name, chef and menu – the team will convert the existing bar and al fresco patio into PT, a pop-up restaurant showcasing creative American cuisine by Chef Patricio Sandoval and a spirited beverage program by Tippling Bros. PT will launch the week of May 7, 2012 and will remain open through remodeling, with approximately 50 seats indoors and 100 seats outdoors.

The French Culinary Institute-trained Chef Sandoval, who grew up in the kitchen of his father’s world-class Madeiras restaurant in Acapulco, Mexico, will merge his classic training and love of flavor to present his favorite American dishes with Latin flair. PT’s menu will feature starters, salads, sandwiches, plates and sides, as well as raw bar selections. Items may include:

PT’s Nightly specials, effective upon opening, will become instant hits, including:

  • Mussel Monday – all you can eat for $14.50 per person
  • Torta Tuesday – all you can eat mini tortas for $15.50 per person
  • Wing Wednesday – all you can eat wings for $12.50 per person
  • Taco Thursday – all you can eat tacos for $18.50 per person
  • Fried Friday - all you can eat fried chicken for 16.50 per person
  • Shrimp Saturday - all you can eat peel & eat shrimp $19.50 per person
  • Sausage Sunday – all you can eat sausages and gourmet hot dogs for $16.50 per person

The award-winning Tippling Bros., Paul Tanguay and Tad Carducci, will place their expert stamp on PT’s beverage program. Craft cocktails will be based on world classics enhanced with unexpected fruits, herbs and spices that will surprise and delight. Offerings will change daily, and on a given night, diners will have the opportunity to meet Paul and Tad, as well as a number of guest bartenders. A global selection of wine and beer will also be available.

“We can’t wait to unveil the new restaurant concept later this year, and in the meanwhile, Patricio, Paul and Tad are going to have a lot of fun with PT this summer,” added Kalb. “We think it will provide both visitors and residents with a dynamic option for cocktailing and dining in the heart of one of Chicago’s most vibrant, exciting neighborhoods.”
